Grey clouds had prevented the sun from shinning all day, though not much as drizzle rained for the most part. Cassie cursed the cliché city weather; the drizzle had made her hair slightly frizzy (which was going to be a pain in the ass to manage later in the day) and all outside surfaces slippery. Particularly the rooftops, which made patrol annoyingly difficult. She couldn’t go home – refused to let a bit of water stop her. Even as her boots skidded over the wet floor of someone’s balcony. No flower pots were harmed however, and she safely managed to continue making her way up the fire escape, so overall that was a win at the very least. Cassie wasn’t sure if the recent wave of petty crime was due to the appearance of a new arms dealer in the area or if it was just coincidental, but she'd been so busy dealing with the crime wave directly that investigating the source of it had been severely delayed. At least until now, as she attempted to trail the only lead she had. Sometimes, paths cross anyways- criminals are terrible about running in the right direction. It didn’t matter to Cass who she bumped into when taking down baddies to the ground, but sometimes it made the night more.. interesting than anticipated. And that was just putting it nicely. She had been perched halfway up the fire escape, binoculars focused on the two targets below. They thought they were being real sly and clever about their illegal tendings, despite how obvious it was that they were doing some not so legal things. Because yeah, standing around in a suspicious looking alley in bad weather while armed and wearing a hoodie to better hide one's identity was TOTALLY inconspicuous. Baddies were too predictable sometimes. However, Cass had been so focused on evaluating their 'villainy' that a sudden loud noise of metal clanking overhead startled her. For a second she thought it might have been a stray cat that hadn’t made it to safety in time, until she turned and saw a dark figure much bigger than a cat. Can't really confuse an armed man with a metal arm for a cat. She continues to stare at him, eyes wide as she processes just what to do in this situation. Should she confront him? Is he a civilian? Obviously not, and it seems like he hadn't noticed her presence, focused intently on dumb and dumber below. Her mind finally pieces things together and her bewildered expression slowly turns into a peeved one. Oh no. He better not.❝ Oh, Excuse you! Don't you effin' dare! ❞It's an outburst, and she quickly catches her breath, continues in a hushed tone. Tone down the Cage.❝ This is a Special Forces covert operation. You're not authorized to be here. ❞
